Early February: Priming, Insulation, Cabinetry
Friends,
The past two weeks have brought some exciting changes to the new Youth Ministry center taking shape in our lower level! The drywall is completed (goodbye, dust!) and all the walls have been primed and, as you’ll see, we’re even seeing some colors going up! (that green, wow!)
This week we welcomed into our space the amazing team coating our ceiling with black K13 soundproofing insulation; here’s a link for those who are interested in knowing more about this material. The process is a mess, but the result is an acoustically-managed, thermally insulated space that looks professional. I’ve put some pictures in the gallery today, take a look.
Other exciting updates include:
Bathrooms primed and ready for color;
Kitchen sink delivered and set in place;
Corrugated metal panels delivered (to be installed soon)
“Tetris”-seating area framed in and ready for finishes;
and more!
Exciting visible changes to the space will come in throughout the rest of this month—we’ll see colors and finishes start to go up, and we’ll even be pouring an epoxy floor in the Maker Space/Creative Studio and begin bathroom tiling so we can get fixtures installed.
We continue to be grateful to God for safety and health of our workers and crew, and we’d welcome your continued prayers for a successful final 60 days (!) of this phase of construction.
WHAT’s NEXT?
As you know, we divided our campaign into two construction phases.
Phase 1: Youth Ministry Center (August 2025-April 2026)
Phase 2: Music and Arts Department, Church Office Complex, Library, and Gerholz Center (June 2026-February 2027)
We made a commitment to not begin construction on a phase until we have all necessary funds received in pledged and/or direct gifts. Once we received enough for Phase 1, we mobilized and got underway with construction. We think this is the most faithful and God-honoring way to proceed through a project of this scope.
To launch Phase 2, then, we are looking to receive an additional $675,000 in pledges or gifts to the project. To learn more about how you might help us close the gap, check out this post from last week.
As always, thanks!
Joseph.
