The Work Continues

As of today, we have only a few more days left in our demolition era of this phase of our project. With each day, the crew from Blue Star remove more and more from the existing youth center and the space looks incredibly different already. With several major walls removed and drop ceilings eliminated, the room feels impossibly taller and excitedly open.

The most significant change this past week was the removal of the stage and the rear wall of the old amphitheater area, which now means that when you walk into the main doors of the PIPE, you no longer have to walk around a long hallway to get to the main space—It’s all wide open!

Take a look at some of the pictures below.

Here’s a video walkthrough of the space as of Sunday, September 14. Note: I started recording back in the SE corner looking into the demolished bathroom and old NA space.

WHAT’S NEXT?

After demolition is completed, we then move into some less exciting work (at least visually) for a week or two on underground plumbing and trench filling. Then we move into to rough carpentry and laying out the way the new space will be framed in!

Stay tuned for more pictures!
